My very first food blog post! Only because I have had so many requests asking for the recipe of my Cinna’s!! Thought why not just blog it instead of answering people individually 🙂
It’s not actually my recipe it’s one a friend sent me so cannot take credit but after spending a few weeks in Dubai & Abu Dhabi I became obsessed & couldn’t stand the thought of not having any in my hood haha… Where there’s a will there’s a way!
Ingredients
Dough :
250ml warm milk
2 eggs, room temperature
75g butter, room temperature
600g bread flour
1 tablespoon salt
100g caster sugar
2 & 1/2 teaspoons quick yeast
Filling:
Brown Sugar
Ground cinnamon
Softened butter
Icing:
100g cream cheese
100% Icing sugar
A few drop vanilla essence
Method
Put all the ingredients for the dough into either a bread machine or get your ‘attah’ techniques out haha!
Kneed it all together ensuring the butter is well crumbled together with the flour & other ingredients – Should eventually turn into a stretchy type of dough. Leave in a warm place for an hour or or longer to rise.
Roll out using a rolling pin but don’t roll it too thin otherwise you won’t get that nice chunky bun.. At least 3mm in thickness. Smear over softened butter & sprinkle your Sugar & Cinnamon mix evenly without over doing it. Here you can also add chocolate chips.
Tightly roll it into a sausage shape
Use a strong or large knife to cut the dough into nice generous sized pieces.
Put into the ovan at 180 gas mark 6
Keep an eye on them until they are golden brown approx 20 minutes may need more if inside of buns are still damp.
Once they come out while they are warm cover generously with your cream cheese frosting & watch it melt! Mmmmm the smell at this point should make you drool… Don’t try this while fasting lol…
You can either leave it like that or be creative with your toppings!
Here I topped with salted peanuts & mini fudge.
Eat while warm or make sure you heat then up in the microwave before eating!
Good luck 🙂
