Mendhi, Wedding & Walima

So here goes my very first Bridal Diary! Featuring Momina… Momina booked me way in advance which is what I like! A very organised bride who had a great taste in make up artists *winks*…

From the day of her Nikka, to her Walima.. I had the pleasure of Al Bidazzeling her on all 4 days. Within the Pakistani culture this is how it goes…

The Engagement/Nikka

The first day I got Momina ready was on her Nikka day which is the Islamic wedding ceremony – Her dress was an elegant Pakistani fashioned lengha maxi designed perfectly for the occasion. A lovely nudey champaign colour with a maroon velvet border & soft gold embroidery. I went for a soft side bun to compliment the pretty look she was going for with subtle smokey eyes and a simple pinky lip.

Momina’s Mendhi Look

Momina opted for a traditional yet modern Mendhi outfit with bright colours just as our tradition says! It was a beautifully designed outfit which was then made in Pakistan. Traditionally we did the plait look & modernised it with soft pretty curls. I gave Momina a pretty pink eye with a softly glossed lip making sure age wasn’t too over done but still looked fab.

The Bharaat (Pakistani Wedding Day)

This has got to be my favorite day. I just love the traditional red lengha! I gave Momina deep & smokey eyes using golds, bronze & black. A sculpted contour with an intense bridal blush & the one & only Russian Red lip..! Simple side parting to compliment her classy outfit.

And finally the Walima

A beautiful pastel outfit designed by the bride & created in Pakistan… Soft colours with a pop of aqua – Just wow! We went for pin straight hair to make a unique change from the brides natural curly hair… I gave Momina a soft braid as requested which suited her loads. Pink smokey look on the eyes with a pop of aqua underneath, soft natural liner & lashes with a mix of Please Me & Pink Nuvoe (MAC) on the lips.

Thankyou Momina for having me as such a big part of your special days… Hope you have all enjoyed a sneak peak behind the scenes on my Bride from last year & inshaAllah plenty more coming soon.
