When there is a wedding in your house… Stay Calm!!!

Asian weddings are literally mental from start to finish.. whether to want to keep them simple or go all out – to create perfection the stress levels are there…

Here is my little journal of the wedding and the run up to it… my favourite people, companies and brands who I adore and love even more after their service offered to me and my family during such an important time.

Wedding Week – Guests start coming, house is decorated and you should have completed most of your to – do list by now.

We decided to decorate the living room ourselves because I found that home decor companies were just way too over priced and offering very basic designs – With the help of a beaut Farah from Amelia Couture/Personalised Occasions (Rochdale) – Instagram @ameliacouture – She helped us with her stage decor expertise and dry hired us the hanging beads… They were perfect and not too dramatic.

I love a good food snap! The feeling of eating from a plastic plate will never be beaten by fine cutlery – Old skool all the way and this Cehri/Kaddi was the best before a weekend full of MEAT and OIL overload lol…

Quick snap of my #OOTD – I’m always a plain Jane or too busy to dress up, so I made an extra effort to look a bit dressy during the wedding week… Here I wore a pretty #Jamawar mid length kameez which had glass buttons elegantly placed down the front neck line and contrasted with a shiny orange #Sharara – I purchased this from STYLE HOUSE in Oldham and the Uncle there is so lovely and will definitely look after you… Just tell him Aliyah sent you.

Brown Mendhi and me are NOT friends, the smell is just eeek – But I was a sport and had it done! And it made my Mum happy… The design just made me love it though and it just got darker as the days went on… Thank you to @mendhibymaariyahx who was a dream to have come over and do mine and my family’s Mendhi… Highly recommend her she is so talented and applies such detailed Henna in a matter of minutes!
